Fashionopolism Theme: Theme sections

Draggable sections allow you to choose which content shows on your home page and the order in which it is shown relative to your other content.

Sections make up content areas of your website and named aptly show sections of a specific type of content like featured collections or a slideshow. Sections can be re-ordered using with drag and drop and repeated in order to increase on your stores home page content. Sections may also be deleted and then re-added later.

While sections may define an are of content, blocks make up the content within each section.
As an example a slideshow would be a section, each slide within that section would be a block.

Like sections blocks can be added, re-ordered with drag and drop or deleted within their section.
This makes it simple for store owners to be able to re-order the order in which images will appear within their slideshows for example.

Adding sections or blocks to your store will require no code editing knowledge.

Fixed sections

You will notice on all pages the appearance of the Header and Footer sections.
These sections may not be moved to different positions. The section options will appear on each page that they apply to. As the Header and Footer of your website will appear on every page, these will be visible throughout the customize theme pages.

Where else can we use sections?

The home page of your Shopify theme is the only page that will have editable and re-orderable sections.

Templates within your theme include:
Collection pages
Product pages
Static pages
Blogs and blog posts

Each templates is it's own section and can include blocks of content.

Unfortunately at this time you can not create sections or blocks within individual pages, these can only be assigned to templates. So the options that you choose whilst viewing a product page will apply to all products and not just the one that you were viewing at the time.
