Instagram feed removal
On March 2nd 2020 Instagram will action proposed changes to its API.
This means that from this date forward all We are Underground themes Instagram feed sections will stop showing images.
In order to show the feed, an access token was always required which many of you will have created at some time. Those access tokens depend on the Instagram API in order to connect and show images.
Shopify has requested that all theme developers remove Instagram feeds from the theme files for current theme versions before February 14th, 2020.
Future releases of each theme will not include an Instagram feed, older versions, that already have feeds installed will remain visible but without function from March 2nd, 2020.
To prevent having an empty Instagram feed on this section of your storefront, you should delete the Instagram feed section on any pages it appears within your theme by following these steps:
- In your Admin, navigate to Online Store > Customize.
- Locate the Instagram section within the Theme Editor.
- Remove the Instagram section where it appears on all pages.
Please note that:
This change impacts only on the Instagram feed section of your website. This change does not relate to the Instagram sales channel within your Shopify dashboard.
